In recent years, the electronic cigarette has been condemned by the FDA and a handful of other so-called medical ‘experts’ because of it’s supposed lack of testing and their concerns regarding the unknown health risks it could bring about.
And while there may be a seed of truth in this opinion, that isn’t the disturbing part of their condemnation of electronic cigarettes and the perceived health risks of vaping.
The problem is with the fact that they don’t seem to care that the device could be a safer alternative to smoking tobacco that will not only prevent people from contracting illnesses from second hand smoke, but also save the lives of many smokers themselves.
Professor Carl Philips of the TobaccoHarmReduction.org Institute at the University of Alberta, Canada, when asked in an interview on eCigarettedirect.com:
“Given what we know about the ingredients and carcinogens contained within the electronic cigarette, is there reason to believe it could be a safer alternative to regular cigarettes?”…
responded this way:
“I think that’s quite an understatement. I think there’s absolutely no doubt that it is a safer alternative to regular cigarettes. Now “safe”, that’s a word that implies there is absolutely no health risk from something, and that doesn’t really apply to anything. But our estimate is that it is probably in the order of 99 percent less harmful than smoking.
Who’s Side Is The FDA On, Anyway?
There are at least thousands, and possibly even millions of people all over the world who have tried other stop smoking aids such as ‘nicotine’ patches, ‘nicotine’ gum, and other ‘nicotine’ related products in an attempt to ‘kick the habit’. Now the FDA and a few of their backers want to condemn electronic cigarettes and vaping because of the effects that the ‘nicotine’ can have on someone’s health.
But you have to ask yourself, if a person is going to smoke anyway, wouldn’t the nicotine alone have to be safer than all the deadly carcinogens found in cigarettes? And why haven’t these other ‘nicotine’ products come under fire by the FDA?
It simply doesn’t make sense that an entity put in place to protect us, such as the FDA, would condemn a product such as a stop smoking aid that not only has no cancer causing chemicals that anyone has been able to prove, but also doesn’t produce any harmful second hand smoke.
It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to figure out that the health risks of vaping have to be much less than those associated with smoking tobacco cigarettes.
